Description :

Morgan Stanley's Equity Derivatives business is continually investing in its RFQ and document management platform. These systems cover the pre-trade environment including RFQ?s, termsheet approval and generation, pricing and feeding the trade capture systems.

The role is for a highly skilled C# WPF & Java developer, to work on the development of the global Equity Derivative RFQ & DX system. This will require close interaction with Sales, Trading, Quants and Operations globally, Senior Business Management in addition to IT colleagues working on the related user interface and the database, all operating within a highly agile test-driven development environment.

The role will include:

- Project management & Team leading of a couple of systems in the pre-trade environment.
- Interfacing with business unit sponsors (sales and trading) as well as other key stakeholders such as quants, operations and downstream IT teams, to gather requirements, document specifications
- Working with IT colleagues globally across a number of front / middle / back-end systems and teams to implement and then test the required functionality.
- Working with the first level support team to provide production support.
- Involvement in the full development lifecycle of the project.
- Coordination with the global team on new features and participation in driving the future direction of the system.

This role represents an excellent opportunity to work closely with front office users and learn an exciting and complex business area whilst taking ownership of parts of the project.

The successful candidate will be commercially focused, have excellent communication skills, will be able to demonstrate a strong delivery track record, and will be capable of pragmatically balancing time to market against future-proofed design and architecture.

A keen interest in the latest development tools and technologies is also expected.

The successful candidate will have a good bachelors' or masters degree in Computer Science or similar. Equity Derivatives Product Knowledge is not a per-requisite, although it is advantageous.

Skills Required:
- Strong C# with emphasis on multi-threaded real-time GUI development
- Strong WPF knowledge with MVVM
- Strong Java/J2EE development experience
- TDD & DDD
- Tomcat, Apache, Spring, jUnit, jMock knowledge
- Experience using Visual Studio and Eclipse
-- Good Unix/Linux experience with knowledge of Unix tools and scripting (Perl, ksh/bash and Autosys)
- Practical Experience using HTTP (and ideally REST) based services
- Experience of Agile development techniques and a deep understanding of systems engineering, build and release management principles including continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- Experience with design patterns, unit testing, performance/memory analysis, and n-tier architecture
- Experience of full software development life cycle
- Ability to communicate with the business unit sponsors effectively
- Ability to coordinate with various teams to deliver projects successfully
- Strong verbal & written skills required to interact with global teams
- Highly motivated, analytical thinking individual

Skills Desired: - Equity and FID exotic structured products
- Equity Derivatives Knowledge

Qualifications

-Good bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science or similar.
